70-year-old woman pointed gun at Lynn Haven workers fixing water main, police say

LYNN HAVEN — A 70-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly pointed a gun at five city workers blocking her driveway as they repaired a water main break on Wednesday.

Jefri L. Petitpren, who lives on New Hampshire Avenue, was arrested following the 10:45 a.m. Wednesday incident, according to Bay County court records. She was charged with five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Court records state that Petitpren confronted the workers for blocking her driveway "and was vulgar with them."

She then sat in her garage with the garage door open and holding a 9mm handgun, pointing the weapon at the Lynn Haven city workers as they worked on the waterline in the roadway, the court records said. At some point, she allegedly panned the weapon "from side to side."

The court records did not say whether the gun was loaded.

According to the court records, Petitpren "caused a well founded fear in all five of the employees that they would be shot."
