71-year-old shot to death in Euclid; police suspect 14-year-old

Nov. 10—On Nov. 5, a 71-year-old man was found shot to death in Euclid.

Larry Anderson lived on East 45th Street in the city.

Euclid police were tipped off by Pennsylvania state troopers who picked up a suspect driving Anderson's vehicle. The suspect is a 14-year-old male from the Columbus area. His name has been withheld by authorities until further investigation.

"We don't have a lot of information yet as to the relationship between the victim and the suspect and the nature of why they were in the house," Euclid Police Captain Mitch Houser said. "What we do know is that a Pennsylvania trooper made a traffic stop and the driver was this 14-year-old kid.

"The trooper began to dig a little bit, asking why he was driving this person's car and his story just didn't add up," Houser added. "So, the trooper called us and asked if someone could go by the house and check on Anderson. We did just that and we found him at his house dead having suffered a gunshot wound."

The suspect is awaiting an extradition hearing next week in Pennsylvania.
