- I just talked to the victim in this case. She sent me pictures of her injuries. She had to have 12 stitches. She and her 21-year-old grandson both were pistol whipped. Her 15-year-old granddaughter was also with them.

All of this happening, this terrifying ordeal in the parking lot here at this Kroger on Seawall Boulevard. It happened around 9:30 last night. The victim who is 72 years old. And her grandchildren had just left the Pleasure Pier to grab some groceries here at this Kroger. They were visiting friends in Galveston.

Well as they left the store, she said they were ambushed at their car by two men who both had guns. The granddaughter made it inside the car. Her grandson was held on the ground at gunpoint. One suspect saying he was going to quote, "blow his brains out." They hit both grandma and grandson with their guns and stole jewelry.

She said her only concern was her grandchildren. She didn't even realize she was bleeding so much. But today, she wanted to let people know it happened, so they can take precautions. This afternoon, news of this violent crime outside this busy Kroger was still spreading.

- People come here to have fun. And yes, really sad.

- So we have Airbnb and we plan on staying here on and off. We have grandchildren. We have kids. So it's very concerning because I love this Kroger's. But it doesn't matter where you're at, it shouldn't happen.

- Now Galveston police did release vague descriptions of the two suspects. Both men with facial tattoos. One was wearing all black, another wearing a red hoodie. They sped off into the neighborhood North in a white sedan, possibly a Honda.

Anyone with information is urged to call Galveston Stoppers or the Galveston police department. We are live on the Island, Jessica Willey, ABC 13 Eyewitness News.
