73-year-old arrested in deadly Apache Junction shooting

A man was shot and killed Sunday following a neighbor dispute at an RV park in Apache Junction, according to police.

The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. at an RV park near Ironwood Drive and West Apache Trail.

According to Apache Junction police, while officers were searching the area, they found one victim who had been fatally shot. Their name was not released by police.

Officers then evacuated other neighbors and kept the suspect, only identified as a 73-year-old man, within his home, police said. The suspect fired two rounds before exiting the home and being taken into custody.

Police said the shooting was brought about by a neighbor dispute, but did not provide further details about what happened.

The investigation was ongoing, police said Monday morning.
