Moraine Police and EMS, assisted by the Ohio Department of Transportation, were dispatched to Interstate 75 southbound near Dryden Road at 1:02 a.m. on reports that a single vehicle overturned, dispatchers for the city confirmed.

When officers arrived on scene, they confirmed that a single vehicle was overturned near the highway’s shoulder. Officers blocked off the left lane, beyond state Route 741, to clear the debris and remove the wreckage from the roadway, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The initial call reported that the overturned vehicle was occupied by two people, dispatchers told responding officers on emergency scanners. The driver was reportedly injured, while the passenger was not. Medics responded to the scene as a result.

Medics treated the driver near the crash site; however, the victim refused a transport to a nearby hospital. Authorities determined that the driver suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries, dispatchers said.

A preliminary investigation found that the car struck the concrete median barrier, spun around, and caused the side of the car to become lifted off the ground. As a result of the strike, the Ohio Department of Transportation were called to reset the concrete median.

The Moraine Police Department led the investigation into the crash.
