75-year-old mom, autistic son found dead in Queens apartment
A 75-year-old woman and her autistic son were found dead inside their Queens apartment just after midnight Thursday, police said.
Cops showed up to the Astoria Houses apartment around 12:25 a.m. to neighbor reports of foul odor coming from the home.
The mother was found dead in bed. Her son was found dead on the hallway floor. Both bodies were partially decomposed, cops said.
Investigators believe the mother died of natural causes. Her autistic son was unable to take care of himself and died some time later, sources said.
Neighbors told police that neither had been seen for more than a month.
Autopsies have been scheduled to determine exactly how the mother and son died.
