757Teamz boys basketball Top 15: King’s Fork, Menchville still on top. Great Bridge, Western Branch enter rankings
King’s Fork beat No. 3 Oscar Smith in a Southeastern District battle as the Bulldogs held on to the top spot in the 757Teamz boys basketball Top 15.
Menchville just keeps on rolling. The Monarchs (14-0) have a tough week with No. 6 Kecoughtan on Friday and No. 7 Woodside on Jan. 31.
Landstown moved up despite losing 50-47 Saturday to the Wise Pumas of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The Pumas are 15-0 and ranked No. 15 in Maryland by MaxPreps. The Eagles (12-5) had won five in a row prior to that loss. Four of their losses have come against teams out of Virginia. The other was against John Marshall High of Richmond, which is ranked No. 2 in the nation by MaxPreps and No. 15 by ESPN.
Catholic (19-2) has won 15 games in a row.
Norview (11-4) has won five in a row, including a dominating 63-38 victory over then-No. 5 Maury.
Great Bridge and Western Branch entered the Top 15.
The Wildcats (10-3) have won eight in a row — although only one came against a team with a winning record, Nansemond River. The Bruins (7-5) began the season 2-4 but have won five of their last six games. Western Branch plays at Great Bridge on Friday.
