78-year-old Pensacola man dead after medical emergency causes crash into residence

A 78-year-old Pensacola man is dead after experiencing a medical emergency while driving an SUV that caused him to crash into a residence Wednesday afternoon.

The man, who was driving a black Cadillac XT5, was traveling southbound in the driveway of a residence located in the 1300 block of Portland Street in Escambia County at 4:44 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

He experienced a medical emergency while operating the vehicle, resulting in the SUV colliding with the residence.

The man was transported to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
