8 of 10 Topeka-area girls basketball teams are above .500 after winter break

Coming out of the winter break, eight of the 10 Topeka-area girls basketball teams have records above .500.

Rossville (5-0), Seaman (5-0) and Silver Lake (4-0) all entered winter break with undefeated records followed by Topeka High (6-1), Shawnee Heights (4-1), Hayden (3-1), Highland Park (2-1), Cair Paravel (1-3) and Topeka West (1-5).

Offensively, Rossville has the highest scoring average per game with 61 followed by Silver Lake (60.5 points per game) Seaman (57 ppg), Topeka High (56.6 ppg), Highland Park (52.3 ppg), Hayden (51.3 ppg), Shawnee Heights (47.8 ppg), Washburn Rural (45 ppg), Topeka West (38.8 ppg) and Cair Paravel (23.5 ppg).

Defensively, Rossville leads the Topeka-area teams, allowing just 28.4 points per game followed by Seaman (28.8 ppg), Highland Park (29 ppg) Silver Lake (29.75 ppg), Hayden (36.5 ppg), Washburn Rural (37.6 ppg), Shawnee Heights (38.6 ppg), Topeka High (40.3 ppg), Topeka West (43.8 ppg) and Cair Paravel (47.25 ppg).

Below are the top 10 Topeka-area stat leaders for girls basketball in scoring, two-point field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, free throw percentage, rebounds, steals, assists and blocks.

Stats are tracked by the respective teams and coaches and submitted to Seaman girls basketball head coach Matt Tinsley who, along with Seaman junior Tad Darting, have organized that data and put it into spreadsheets to send out to coaches.
