MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Officers encourage the community to not drive intoxicated following several Driving Under the Influence (DUI) arrests, according to the Madera Police Department.
Police say that, over the weekend, officers handled many calls for service and conducted several proactive arrests, eight of them were DUI-related.
Officers say some being proactive prevented collisions and serious injury, but people continue to drive while intoxicated, causing avoidable injury to others and major property damage.
“We cannot stress enough the dangers of driving while under the influence. Please plan ahead and think about others before getting behind the wheel,” officers said in a social media post.
