8 Awesome Companies That Give Back (and How You Can, Too!)

11/15/18—This holiday season, making a difference is as easy as shopping, hosting, and giving. We’ve rounded up our favorite community-minded companies that go the extra mile to give back. Be a mindful consumer and gift giver by supporting worthy causes throughout the year. Plus, we’re sharing our favorite gifts from companies that give back.

Feed Suppers

Host a party for a good cause. Created by Lauren Bush and the Feed Foundation, the concept behind Feed Suppers is simple. Sign up to host dinner, set a fundraising goal, and invite your guests. Instead of bringing a dish or gift, guests simply donate online. In partnership with the charity Feeding America, every dollar buys 10 meals for people in need. It’s easy to make a big impact. Just eight guests giving $10 each = 800 meals! Buy the kits through West Elm and sign up to host at Feed Suppers.

Homesick Candles

Your favorite stocking stuffer just got even better. For every candle sold during the week of #GivingTuesday, Homesick will send candles to our troops and their families this holiday season through Support Our Troops. Simply enter "Tuesday" at checkout to participate from November 24 through December 2. Inspired by the scents of cities, countries, and memories, there's a candle for everyone on your list. Visit Homesick Candles to learn more.

GoFundMe

It doesn’t get easier to give than GoFundMe. Setting up a campaign or supporting one tops our list of effortless ways to make a difference. “There are many ways to give back and make an impact, outside of monetary donations throughout the holidays," says Nick Davidovich who works with Community Management for GoFundMe. "You can bring awareness to causes you care about by sharing GoFundMe campaigns on social media and encourage others to donate. It's easy to do and can make such a positive impact.” This year, pay it forward by creating a "friendsGIVING" GoFundMe Teams campaign. At your annual friendsgiving, request that in lieu of buying a nice bottle of wine or gift, guests donate to a campaign or join the team fundraiser. Learn more about the ways to give.

Every day of the year, one hundred percent of the proceeds from Lush's Charity Pots goes to organizations devoted to animal, environmental and human rights. While this is a great feel-good purchase any day, if you purchase the pot of lotion on Giving Tuesday you can do double the good! On November 27th, Lush will match all funds raised through Charity Pot sales, so when you purchase one pot, you give back double—with no extra cost to you!
