Sushi is defined as a Japanese dish of vinegar-flavored, cold, cooked rice served with raw fish, vegetables, egg and/or sauces.

I define it as a delectable bite of addictive Japanese cuisine.

From hand rolls to house rolls, I’m up for all of the above. Thankfully, the Stark County area is brimming with delicious options. Offering dine-in and carryout options at each spot, here are eight top sushi restaurants in the area and what to know about each.

1. Thai Lanna & Sushi Bar

Thai Lanna & Sushi Bar offers sushi appetizers and a large variety of cooked and raw fish rolls, a variety of nigiri and sashimi (two pieces per order), sushi combo entrees and sushi sampler entrees and 15 special rolls. Kintaro offers a few options for sushi lovers. Choose from the regular menu which offers sushi and sashimi lunch specials and classic roll specials, plus 18 options of sashimi, 19 options of nigiri, a large variety of classic rolls and hand rolls, 34 special rolls and several sushi entrees.

The all-you-can-eat buffet, which is available for lunch and dinner, offers soup and salad, appetizers, a variety of nigiri, 30 classic rolls and hand rolls, 13 special rolls, a variety of hibachi options, several tempura dishes, noodle in the soup, teriyaki, fried rice and ice cream. Buffet diners are each given a menu to mark the items they want and are served fresh, with the server coming back throughout the meal to take orders again. For each pound of food left over, there is a surcharge of $10.99, so it’s best to pace yourself and order as you go. If you do get a surcharge, you are allowed to take home the extra food.
