Egg hunts, a Shop Hop and a PEEPS invasion to celebrate Spring, Easter in Bucks County

Spring is on its way and with it, several events are planned throughout Bucks County.

Peddler's Village in Lahaska kicks off its spring season March 13 with its PEEPS in the Village, where over 100 contestants have created displays with the colorful little marshmallow critters.

Visitors can vote on their favorite entries until April 1 in the categories of diorama, sculpture and wall art on display in the Visitor & Event Center at Street Road and Peddlers' Lane until April 23.

Here are other events for Easter and spring family fun:

Bristol Township breakfast with Easter bunny

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny: 9 a.m. to noon March 25, Bristol Township Senior Center, 2501 Bath Road. The menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage and assorted juices. Crafts for a nominal fee will include dyeing eggs, guessing the number of jelly beans, cupcake decorating, bingo, Easter Basket raffle for boys and girls, foam Easter eggs and card making.

At noon, the Bristol Township Parks and Recreation Department's Easter Egg Hunt will take place at the amphitheater, 2501 Bath Road, for children ages 2 to 10, divided into age groups.

Falls Township egg hunt

Find the golden egg and win a top prize at Quaker Penn Park, 300 Pennsbury Memorial Road, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1. The egg hunt will be divided into groups: ages 2-4, 10:05-10:10 a,m.; ages 5-7,  10:20 -10:25 a.m; ages 8-10, 10:35 -10:40 a.m.; and ages 11-12, 10:50 -10:55 a.m. Event is free.

Langhorne Egg Hunt

The borough will hold an egg hunt with prizes 10 a.m. to noon, April 1, (rain date, April 8) at Mayors Park, Maple Avenue and Route 413, while the Jesse Soby VFW will hold a breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m. to noon, April 2. Tickets are $8 for adults; $4 for children.

Lower Makefield EGG-Stravaganza

Starting April 4, the Lower Makefield Township Parks and Recreation staff will hide more than 2,000 eggs at six parks: Kids Kingdom, Memorial Park, Fred Allen Softball Complex, Greg Caiola Baseball Park, Macclesfield Park, and 5 Mile Woods. There will be a big Golden Egg with a special prize inside. Clues will be posted during the week of April 3 on the Instagram page @LowerMakefieldTownship where the Golden Egg is hiding. The hunts will take place randomly over four days and are designed for children ages 12 and younger. For more information, visit www.lmt.org or call 267-274-1111.

Doylestown Egg Scavenger Hunt

The Doylestown Business and Community Alliance's Discover Doylestown will host an egg scavenger hunt from March 26 until April 8, with participants using booklets to record the eggs they locate at 26 participating businesses. The booklets are available at the Doylestown Bookshop, 16 S. Main St. The Easter Bunny will be welcomed into town April 8 at the Discover Doylestown headquarters, 63 E. State St.

Newtown Egg Hunt and Touch-A-Truck

The Newtown Rotary will hold an egg hunt at Goodnoe Elementary School, 298 Frost Lane, with a greet the Easter Bunny at 8:30 a.m. April 1 and the egg hunt at 9:15 a.m. Rain date is April 8.

The Newtown Township Parks and Recreation Department and Newtown Fire Rescue will host a Touch-a-Truck event 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 6 at Veterans Park, 234 Durham Road including firetrucks, a police car a trash truck, backhoe and a helicopter, among other vehicles. Since children can press the horns on the vehicles, noise-canceling headphones are recommended for those sensitive to loud noises.

Northampton Easter event

Peter Cottontail will pay a visit to the Bunny Hunt "Egg"Venture hosted by Northampton at the Wetzel Pavilion at the Northampton Community Park behind the Maureen Welch School , 750 New Road, 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. on April 1. A magic show, balloon art and other treats included. Advance registration is required: $10 for resident children; $12 non-residents. Families with three or more children can purchase a group ticket for $25 for residents, $30 for non-residents. Perkasie Shop Hop

"Shop Hop," hosted by the Perkasie Towne Improvement Association, is 10 a.m. to noon April 1 at the Perkasie Town Center. "Grab an Easter basket and collect treats from participating Perkasie Borough businesses. Hop from shop to shop," said Linda Reid of the borough's parks department. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance.

An Easter Fair and Egg Hunt will be held by St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, 615 E. Walnut St., from 10 a.m. to noon April 8. There also will be a scavenger hunt, crafts, food, games and music. The event is focused on children in pre-school through fifth grade.

The Perkasie Fire House at t5th and Arch streets will host a Winter Food Market from 10 a.m. to noon April 8. Locally grown and made foods from the Perkasie Farmers Market will be featured, with Easter treats from local bakers and confectioners. A henna artist will participate and there will be giveaways for children.

Quakertown Egg Hunt

Quakertown's annual Easter Egg Hunt is April 1 at Quakertown Soccer Fields, 221 California Road. The free event is for residents and those from surrounding municipalities. There will be giveaways for 600 kids.

The hunt for children with special needs is from 10 to 11 a.m. Hunts for ages 0-3 years is at 10:20 a.m.; ages 4-6, 10:30 a.m.; 7 and older, 10:40 a.m. Hunts will start promptly at their start time. Wear weather appropriate attire and bring baskets.

Volunteers are need to help with the egg distribution, the hunts and other games and activities that day.

Yardley Egg Hunt

The Borough Recreation Department will hold an egg hunt 10:30 a.m. April 1 at Buttonwood Park behind the Yardley Shopping Center on Main Street. The rain date is 1 p.m., April 2.
