8 New England cities ranked among best places to live in America
Eight New England cities have been ranked among the best places to live in America for the upcoming the year, according to a new report.
U.S. News and World Report has published “Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2022-2023″ list and cities in five of the six states that make up New England were highlighted for reasons including good value, being a desirable place to live, having a strong job market, and a high quality of life, the report stated.
Researchers with U.S. News say they analyzed the 150 most populous metro areas to in an effort to find the best places to live.
Here’s how the cities in New England stacked up against the rest of the country:
8. Portland, Maine
18. Boston, Massachusetts
47. Hartford, Connecticut
60. Manchester, New Hampshire
69. Worcester, Massachusetts
105. Providence, Rhode Island
114. New Haven, Connecticut
117. Springfield, Massachusetts
Huntsville, Alabama, topped the list as the best place to live.
“Once a sleepy farming town, Huntsville gained national recognition during the Space Race of the 1960s and is now consistently among the fastest-growing metro areas in Alabama,” U.S. News wrote of the city.”
