These 8 Sacramento restaurants will serve Mother’s Day brunch. Do you need a reservation?

Surely you’ve heard the saying “A way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach.”

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and what better way to show the mom in your life how much they mean to you than with a meal out?

This year, the annual holiday is Sunday, May 14.

The Bee has you covered with brunch spots in Sacramento, ranging from lush outdoor patios to saloons. Here is a list of six spots serving brunch:

La Provence Restaurant & Terrace

110 Diamond Creek Place, Roseville | 916-789-2002

For $65 a person, the entire family can join to celebrate mom at La Provence Restaurant & Terrace in Roseville.

Children under 10 eat for $12, according to the restaurant’s website.

The restaurant will serve a Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday including an assortment of baked goods and cheese as well as a selection of entrees like frittata and an American-style breakfast. Wash the meal down with a variety of mini desserts like cheesecake and brownies.

The menu includes vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Brunch starts at 9 a.m. and the restaurant stops seating at 3 p.m. Reservations can be made online.

Paragary’s

1401 28th St., Sacramento | 916-457-5737

If you’re looking for a bistro with a simple menu and outdoor seating, Paragary’s is an option.

The midtown restaurant will serve a two-course Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday. The meal will include baked goods and a selection of platters like clam chowder, beef short rib or ravioli. It’s $59 per person.

If you rather wait out the brunch crowd and celebrate at dinner, Paragary’s will serve a Mother’s Day dinner for $75 per person from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Brunch is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday through Sunday, according to the restaurant’s website. Dinner is served from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.

The Firehouse Restaurant

The Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento will serve a three-course Mother’s Day brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to its website.

Adults eat for $79.95 per person and children under 12 are served for 29.95. The meal includes eggs, poultry, veggies, pastries and cake.

Tower Café

If you’re looking for a brunch spot surrounded by trees, flowers and a flowing waterfall, Tower Café in Upper Land Park is the spot.

Dishes range between $9 for blueberry cornmeal pancakes and $26 for tempered battered prawns, according to the restaurant’s website. Choose between unique cocktails like a blackberry basil margarita and jalapeno-raspberry lemon drops.

Brunch is served from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Seats are first-come, first served.

Bacon & Butter

If you’re looking to introduce mom to a Michelin-rated experience that won’t break the bank, Bacon and Butter in the Tahoe Park neighborhood is worth a look.

The farm-to-fork restaurant cooks its “dishes from scratch and each plate is made to order,” according to its website. Plates range from $12 for buttermilk battered waffles to $19 for a sausage sandwich with gravy.

Bacon & Butter serves breakfast, brunch and lunch from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Seats are first come, first served.

Shady Lady Saloon

1409 R St., Sacramento | 916-231-9121

Those looking for a kids-free option should look no further than the small bar Shady Lady Saloon.

Brunch dishes range from a $5 bowl of oatmeal with a side of milk to an $18 plate of country-fried steak with biscuits and gravy, according to the bar’s website.

Shady Lady Saloon serves brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Morning Fork

If the person you’re celebrating has a thing for diners, check out The Morning Fork in midtown.

The mom-and-pop, retro diner serves traditional diner dishes as well as coffee and mimosas, according to its website. Platters range from $14 to $25 and typically come with bread, as well as a choice of potatoes or fruit.

There are 16 different waffle flavors ($11-$18) including cinnamon, pistachio and orange chocolate.

The diner is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Seats are first come, first served.

Orphan Breakfast House

3440 C St., Sacramento | 916-442-7370

Orphan Breakfast House in East Sacramento serves breakfast all day, according to its website.

Stand-out dishes include roast beef hash with steak for $20 and a “zen breakfast” with homemade rosemary bread for $16. Lunch options include sandwiches, wraps, tacos and rice bowls.

Attention ketchup lovers: Orphan Breakfast House does not serve the red sweet and tangy condiment. You are welcome to bring your own bottle, according to the restaurant’s website.

Also, remember to bring cash because card payments aren’t accepted.

Orphan Breakfast House is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sibling by Pushkin’s

Sibling by Pushkin’s is perfect for those with dietary restrictions.

The gluten-free brunch menu includes a variety of vegan options like a pesto breakfast sandwich and a tofu ramen salad. Dishes range from $9 to $19 for platters, pancakes, sandwiches, egg scrambles and salads.

Sibling by Pushkin’s is open for brunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Sunday. The restaurant has a same-day waitlist on its website.
