Charlevoix House and The Northside are Victorian inns located between Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. The Charlevoix House is located near the heart of downtown and there are eight rooms to choose from. Amenities include free breakfast, a fireplace, and a nearby beach. The Northside was later purchased in 2021 and rehabbed the same year. It has seven themed rooms to choose from. Prices vary depending on the room and date. The Lamplighter, about three hours from Detroit, is a five-room bed and breakfast at an affordable price. Rooms start at about $150 per night but could vary. They are located 1 mile from downtown Ludington, near the shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. The Lamplighter offers events and packages for an additional cost, such as the Fireside Dining Package. This includes a private dinner made by the chef who offers a variety of cuisines to choose from. Prices vary, depending on the number of courses. The Henderson Castle

The Henderson Castle is an elaborate 1895 mansion that overlooks downtown Kalamazoo and has 12 guest rooms. It was purchased and is being operated by Chef Francois Moyer. Rooms begin at $129/night but could vary. A Valentine’s Day dinner is being held each night from Feb. 10-14 and tickets are available for purchase. The Henderson Castle also has its own vineyard and makes its own wine. Other events featured at the castle include brunch, a murder mystery dinner, cooking classes, tours, wine tastings, and more. Yelton Manor Boutique Hotel

140 N. Shore Drive, South Haven

Yelton Manor is a cozy adults-only bed and breakfast featuring delicious foods and a beautiful Lake Michigan view. Room costs vary from $150 to $300 per night and range in amenities. The Ultimate Romance Package for $135 includes early check-in and late, next-day checkout, a bottle of champagne, six chocolate-covered strawberries, and a dozen roses. The Siren

For those of you looking for more of a staycation, The Siren in downtown Detroit offers a variety of rooms from which to choose. A couple of rooms well-suited for Valentine’s Day include The Chamber Suite and The Parlor Suite. Room costs vary but start as low as $165. In the hotel, The Siren Cafe serves coffees and pastries from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. They also have the Candy Bar which serves drinks on weekdays until 11 p.m. and weekends at 1 a.m. Detroit’s famous restaurant, The Whitney, has Valentine’s Day dinners each night from Feb. 10-14.
