8 Tennessee Titans-Las Vegas Raiders predictions: Titans roll the dice in must-win game

The Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders are each looking to avoid a 0-3 start on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Tennessee lost 41-7 at the Buffalo Bills on Monday, while the Raiders gave away a 20-0 halftime lead and lost in overtime to the Arizona Cardinals.

Both have had chaotic and less-than-positive starts to the 2022 season, which makes this game that much more important. The Titans could be tied for the AFC South lead at the end of Sunday's games, while the Raiders are in the intense AFC West with the 2-0 Chiefs and the 1-1 Chargers and Broncos.

Not sure how, but I think the Titans will manage to get a much-needed victory.

This seems like another spot that the Titans would usually rise up and win in the Mike Vrabel/Ryan Tannehill era. Instead, the Titans are without Taylor Lewan and Bud Dupree. Can Tennessee protect Ryan Tannehill without Lewan, and can it disrupt Derek Carr without Dupree? Kristian Fulton's return should help the secondary, but there are too many important questions for the Titans to answer to win a game.

An 0-2 start is bad enough, but 0-3 would bring out the panic button in Nashville. The Titans won't let it get to that point as coach Mike Vrabel steadies the ship for at least this Sunday.

Joe Spears, high school sports reporter

Raiders 27, Titans 20

Davante Adams was limited to 12 yards against Arizona but against a struggling Titans secondary, he'll rebound with over a 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

Chris Thomas, South Region sports director

Titans 28, Raiders 24

An 0-3 start is a death knell in the NFL, no matter how bad the AFC South might be this season. It’s must-win mode for Tennessee, and Derrick Henry will make it happen against a Raiders run defense that has been pounded through two weeks.

Tom Kreager, high school sports editor

Raiders 27, Titans 24

Titans are still trying to find their mojo. They aren’t there yet, but getting closer.

Greg Hardwig, South Region assistant director of sports planning

Titans 24, Raiders 20

Tennessee does just enough to avoid an 0-3 start and frustrate new Raiders coach Josh McDaniels.

Tommy Deas, South Region SEC Enterprise Editor/Cross-Team Leader

Titans 20, Raiders 17

Buffalo completely outclassed the Titans with an overwhelming edge in playmaking talent. Las Vegas has some playmakers, too, but the Titans should be able to find traction in the ground game and be able to grind out a win. If not, it’s going to be a long season.
