82nd Airborne Division’s All American Week kicks off Monday

FORT BRAGG — The 82nd Airborne Division hosts current and former paratroopers, their families and the local community during All American Week, May 22-25.

With events, sporting competitions, and a memorial, the week is dedicated to maintaining close ties with the division's veterans, families, and the Fort Bragg community.

Hundreds of veterans and visitors are expected to be at Fort Bragg later next week to take part in the festivities.

Paratroopers, past and present, as well as the community, will have a chance to celebrate "America’s Guard of Honor" and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Schedule of events

The following events are open to the public with links to directions:

Monday

• Division Run from 6:30-7:30 a.m. on Long Street.

• Old Timers Breakfast from 9-11 a.m. at the 2nd Brigade Combat Team Dining Facility, 1419 Los Banos St. #1401, Fort Bragg.

• Learn about airborne operations and exit the 34-foot Tower from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the U.S. Army Advanced Airborne School, Taylor Street, Fort Bragg.

Tuesday

•10 Miler from 6:30-9 a.m. at Simmons Army Airfield.

• Prayer Breakfast from 7-9 a.m. at the Iron Mike Conference Center, 2658 Reilly Road, Fort Bragg.

• Division Memorial Ceremony from 11 a.m.-noon at the 82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum, C-6841, 5108 Ardennes St., Fort Bragg.

• Family Fun Run: 5:10-8 p.m. on Ardennes Street.

• Learn about airborne operations and exit the 34-foot Tower from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. at the U.S. Army Advanced Airborne School, Taylor Street, Fort Bragg.

Wednesday

• All American Hall of Fame: 11 a.m. to noon at the 82nd Airborne Division Hall of Heroes on Ardennes Street.

• Learn about airborne operations and exit the 34-foot Tower from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. at the U.S. Army Advanced Airborne School, Taylor Street, Fort Bragg.

Thursday

• Division Review at 10 a.m. on Pike Field

There will also be sports competitions Monday through Thursday at multiple sites.

How to attend

Anyone with access to Fort Bragg can attend All American Week events. For most events, visitors without military identification will need a visitor’s pass that can be obtained at the All American Visitor’s Center, 3550 All American Freeway.
