86.2 per cent of O-Level candidates passed 5 or more subjects: MOE
Almost all students passed at least one subject, with 96.6 per cent of students passing at least three subjects
SINGAPORE —Students who took the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level examinations last year performed slightly better than the 2021 cohort, with 20,406 students or 86.2 per cent obtaining five or more passes.
This is a slight improvement from 85.6 per cent in 2021.
According to the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB), 23,684 candidates sat for the 2022 GCE O-Level exams. Most of them, 99.8 per cent, passed at least one subject, and 96.6 per cent passed at least three.
“This is comparable to the performance of candidates for the GCE O-Level Examination in previous years," MOE and SEAB said.
Students who wish to apply for admission to junior colleges, polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or Millennia Institute can do via the Joint Admissions Exercise can do so until 4pm on Tuesday (17 January). They can submit their applications here.
MOE said that students seeking guidance on their education options can approach their teachers or the Education and Career Guidance counsellors supporting their schools for assistance.
