Celebrities are famous for giving their kids unusual names (think Blue Ivy and Apple). But some stars, such as Bindi Irwin, take a more traditional approach.

Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, named their daughter Grace Warrior Irwin after the baby's late grandfather, Steve "The Crocodile Hunter" Irwin.

"Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior,” Bindi wrote on Instagram in 2021.

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and wife Nicole Phelps are parents of sons Boomer, Beckett, Maverick, and their most recent addition, Nico. Nico is a shortened version of Nicole, while the baby's middle name is Michael after his athlete dad.

Jimmy Fallon and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, also gave their first daughter Winnie a meaningful moniker. Winnie was named after Lake Winnipesaukee, one of their favorite places. George and Amal Clooney blessed their fraternal twins, Alexander and Ella, with common names (as opposed to "really dumb names," the actor said) to give people less reason to scrutinize them. "We didn’t have any great inspiration," Clooney said.

Scroll this roster of cool celebrity baby names (and the funny or touching reasons they were chosen), including classics like Lucy and Ella, punchy stand-outs like Rocky and Win and popular staples like Gus, Michael and Gene.
