As Marnie prepares for the grand opening of her French inspired patisserie, she is keen to take every detail very seriously. This includes speaking to her staff in French and teaching Romeo the correct pronunciation of Bon Appetit!

Speaking about Marnie's new venture, actress Lysette Anthony, who plays her, said: "It shouldn’t be funny, but people coming, and trying to speak French, it’s just my favourite. The best line thus far has been, it was a rather appropriately sweet form of comedy fuelled, by her exasperation.

"Marnie was asked for four hot chocolates in French, but what she was actually asking for was four chocolate cabbages. From then on, her level of French has sprung."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4.
