9-year-old in critical condition following ATV crash in Hall County, GSP says

A nine-year-old girl is in critical condition after an all-terrain vehicle accident Saturday.

Georgia State Patrol said on Saturday, the child, who hasn’t been identified, was sitting in front of the driver of an ATV traveling west on Charlie Jackson Road when it drove off the road and hit a tree.

The child’s head hit the center of the ATV’s handlebars during the crash.

Troopers said the driver and the child were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The driver carried the child to where her father was. She was then taken to the hospital, where she is in critical condition.

The driver of the ATV has not been released.

Troopers have not said what caused the ATV to leave the road.
