9 Texas pizzerias land in Yelp's 100 best pizza spots list; Home Slice takes top honors
Austin's diverse food scene is top notch, but the city's most recent culinary recognition came from one of the most classic dishes around: pizza.
Five Austin pizzerias landed on Yelp's Top 100 Pizza Spots in the U.S. list, along with four other spots in Texas, according to the list. The state finished with the third most pizzerias on the list, just behind New York and California, respectively.

Who has the best pizza in Texas?
Home Slice Pizza, a favorite among Austin's pizza appreciators, ranked 11th on Yelp's list. It's the highest ranked pizza spot in Austin and Texas.
Home Slice Pizza has a 4.4 out of 5-star rating on Yelp, the popular restaurant review platform.
600 Degrees Pizzeria & Draft House in Georgetown ranked second among Texas pizzerias on the list at 37. It has a 4.1-star rating on Yelp.

Pizzerias in the list were ranked by factors like "the total volume and number of 5-star reviews each business had that were written by members of the Yelp Elite Squad," a select group of reviewers verified and trusted by Yelp. Pequod's Pizzeria in Chicago nabbed the top spot in this year's ranking.
