92-year-old charged with manslaughter after attacking assisted living resident in Stuart

STUART — A 92-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after attacking an 87-year-old assisted-living facility resident who later died from injuries, Stuart police said in a release Friday.

Detectives determined after their investigation that another facility resident attacked the 87-year-old victim, according to the news release. Wallace A. Server was identified as the suspect.

Server was arrested Nov. 16 for his role in the Nov. 5 attack and taken to the Martin County Jail.

Stuart Police officers responded to reports of a resident assaulted at 9:21 p.m. on Nov. 5 at Inspiritás of Stuart on 500 S.E. Indian St.

The victim sustained blunt-force trauma injuries and was treated at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce.

The victim was treated for several days at Lawnwood before being moved to hospice care Nov. 14 and died two days later, police said. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be homicide from multiple blunt-force trauma.
