$93.8 million bond election for Pittsburg ISD to be voted on in May

PITTSBURG, Texas (KETK) – The Pittsburg ISD Board of Trustees voted for a bond election of $93.8 million to appear on ballots in May.

Longview ISD approves $456.2 million May bond election

According to the district, on Feb. 8 the Pittsburg ISD board agreed to place the bond election on May ballots, despite a similar election failing to receive enough voter support last year.

Pittsburg ISD said that it has been eight years since the last capital investment for the district, and that a committee of over 20 Pittsburg ISD community members had worked together to develop the proposal.

Proposition A is for $74.4 million and would include the following: New High School safety and security bus road. Proposition B is for $19.4 million and would include the following: Junior High additions and renovations to safety and security.

The school said that they would be contacting community members with factual information regarding the propositions, so that voters would be adequately informed.
