93-year-old killed in Turtlecreek Twp. fire identified

A 93-year-old man is dead after a house fire in Warren County Tuesday morning.

Zane Roe, of Turtlecreek Township, was identified as the man found dead inside the home on SR-48, according to the Warren County Coroner’s Office.

The fire broke out before 9 a.m., according to our news partners at WCPO.

Brian Elleman, assistant chief of the Turtlecreek Township Fire Department, said he believed Roe was found on the second floor of the two-story home, WCPO reported.

A family member who tried to save him from the fire was treated for smoke inhalation, Elleman said.

The fire was reportedly knocked down in 10 to 15 minutes, but the left side of the home was heavily damaged from the fire.

The fire is still under investigation at this time.
