I-94 East ramp closures begin Sunday between Woodbury and Lakeland

Lane and ramp closures will occur nightly beginning Sunday as Interstate 94 heading east will be reduced to one lane between Woodbury and Lakeland.

Pavement resurfacing along the road shoulder between Woodbury Drive and the St. Croix River will cause these lane closures between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily between Sunday and Aug. 21, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Four ramps will be closed from Sunday through Aug. 21 between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night: Woodbury Drive to eastbound I-94, eastbound I-94 to Manning Avenue North, Manning Avenue North to eastbound I-94, and eastbound I-94 to Minnesota 95/St. Croix Trail North, MnDOT said.

The schedule of construction is subject to change due to weather, but MnDOT said in a statement they always encourage motorists to “be attentive, drive with caution, … and slowdown in construction zones where workers are present.”

This is part of a larger project to improve safety and traffic flow along I-94 between Minnesota120/Century Avenue and the St. Croix River. The project began in July and will continue in stages in 2023 and 2024. More information can be found on the project webpage.
