$9M Davis Islands property breaks record for second time this year

A 0.3-acre lot on Davis Islands sold for $9 million last week, making it the most expensive piece of residential land sold in the Tampa Bay area, according to records from the Hillsborough County property appraiser.

This is the second time the waterfront property at 202 Blanca Ave. has broken the record in the past year. In February, it sold for $7.2 million.

Christian Michalik, managing director for private investment firm Kinderhook Industries, purchased the land from DNL Real Estate Partners. That LLC is managed by William and Carol Dampier, a Colorado couple who also own a home in St. Petersburg.

Jennifer Zales from Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate represented the seller in the sale. In a statement, Zales said she could not comment on this particular transaction but noted that Davis Islands is one of the strongest real estate markets in Tampa Bay.

“Bayfront properties, in particular, continue to break sales records,” she said. “My recent $12.3 million and $15 million home sales on Adalia Avenue show the demand for open bay. I am currently seeking off-market bayfront properties for my clients looking to buy now, and I look forward to bringing several new construction listings to market on the island in the coming months.”
