What led Capitol Police to stop a youth performance of the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’

Video of a children's choir singing the national anthem in the U.S. Capitol, only to be unceremoniously cut off by police, spread across social media on Friday. Capitol Police say singers from Rushingbrook Children's Choir from Greenville, South Carolina, were stopped May 26 because of a miscommunication. Musical performances in the hallowed seat of Congress require permission, and police said officers had been unaware that the choir had approval from the House speaker.

'Ozempic Butt' Is Increasingly Impacting Those Using Weight Loss Medication

Having experienced a meteoric buzz in almost every form of media (especially TikTok) over the last year, semaglutide injections (better known under brand names like Ozempic and Wegovy) are becoming more common than ever before. The prescription drug — which in part, mimics a hormone in the body that helps suppress appetite and may encourage significant weight loss — has also earned a reputation for a myriad of side effects, everything from gastrointestinal distress to the dramatic impact it may have on your appearance. Part of that phenomenon was examined earlier this year when drug users complained of "Ozempic face," where weight loss had prompted saggy, drawn facial skin due to weight loss just weeks into using semaglutide.

She Met Him on Match.Com–Then Allegedly Tried to Hire a Hitman to Have His Wife Killed

“I hope you fall off a cliff and die,” Melody Sasser blurted out when retired Department of Energy emergency manager and Air Force vet David Wallace told her last fall that he was engaged to another woman. Sasser, 47, allegedly stalked Wallace's wife using a fitness app, sending updates on her precise location, along with the dates and times of her movements, to a bogus murder-for-hire service she found on the dark web. Sasser, who worked for the Pilot Flying J truck stop chain, placed an order via the “Online Killers Market,” a now-defunct scam site that purported to provide services such as “kidnapping, extortion, disfigurement by acid attack, and sexual violence,” in addition to straight-forward killing, the complaint states.

China seeks dialogue, says clash with US would be 'unbearable disaster'

Chinese Defence Minister Li Shangfu told Asia's top security summit on Sunday that conflict with the United States would be an "unbearable disaster" but that his country sought dialogue over confrontation. Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Li said the world was big enough for China and the U.S. to grow together - remarks made days after he refused to meet his U.S. counterpart for direct talks. "China and the U.S. have different systems and are different in many other ways," he said in a speech that marked his first significant international address since he was named China's Minister of National Defence in March.

Stephen Hawking's most famous prediction could mean that everything in the universe is doomed to evaporate, new study says

Stephen Hawking's most famous theory about black holes has just been given a sinister update — one that proclaims that everything in the universe is doomed to evaporate. In 1974, Hawking proposed that black holes eventually evaporate by losing what's now known as Hawking radiation — a gradual draining of energy in the form of light particles that spring up around black holes' immensely powerful gravitational fields. Now, a new update to the theory has suggested that Hawking radiation isn't just created by stealing energy from black holes, but from all objects with enough mass.
