This year’s American Athletic Conference tournament will be the last of its kind, with Cincinnati, Houston and UCF bound for the Big 12 next season.

The Cougars will be heavily favored to win the tournament, which tips off Thursday, March 9 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Houston will be going for a three-peat after winning titles in 2021 and 2022.

UC won the tournament in 2018 and 2019, meaning SMU could be the only team that will be in the conference next season to have a tournament title. The Mustangs won in 2015 and 2017. Louisville won in 2014 and Connecticut in 2016 before leaving the AAC.
