Aaron Jones elected 1 of 6 Green Bay Packers team captains for 2022 season

A season after being named the Green Bay Packers’ Man of the Year, Aaron Jones will wear the captain’s ”C.”

His teammates elected the Burges and UTEP alum as one of their six captains for the 2022 season, along with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, tight end Mercedes Lewis, defensive lineman Kenny Clark, linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, and safety Adrian Amos.

This is the first time Jones (and Campbell) has been named a captain.

A former fifth-round draft pick, UTEP’s all-time leading rusher is entering his sixth season in the league, all with the Packers. A Pro Bowler in 2020, Jones rushed for 799 yards and four touchdowns last season, adding 391 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns.

The Packers open the season Sunday at the Minnesota Vikings.
