Aaron Jordan is 'Back Around' with a new release dropping Sunday

Folks who love each other argue and, yes, leave each other all the time — but that doesn't mean it's forever. Sometimes you know you'll turn "Back Around."

That's the title and message behind Montgomery artist Aaron Jordan's next single, and he continues to go all in for his new role as the "baby boy of southern soul." Jordan's "Back Around" is dropping online Sunday.

"Everybody has fights," Jordan said. "But if you leave, you know you're going to be coming back. You're going to be back around."

It ties in with his debut southern soul single "Leave You," released in April of this year, Jordan said.

While it's available on YouTube starting Sunday, Jordan said the new single will be released to purchase Oct. 6 on all major platforms.

Also Sunday, Jordan will be headlining at Aura Lounge on Atlanta Highway. Doors open at 1 p.m.

"I thank God for every moment that he allows me to be here," said Jordan, who is managed by Jthompson and Associates (Jesse Thompson and Lee King).

A life in music has been Jordan's goal from an early age, though southern soul wasn't his first path. Growing up, he was influenced by huge names like Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston. Jordan's roots are in gospel and hip hop. He and twin brother Adam formed the group "SooReal," and were making moves with a hot single "Brother's Keeper" before tragedy struck. In 2018, Adam was a victim of gun violence. Jordan remembered his brother in a 2019 release "Farewell," and then began focusing on a solo career and rebranding his music and message.
