For those with dreams of the White House, looking 'presidential' is of the utmost importance. People should, in theory, look up to you. You've got the world's strongest economy at your disposal (and a slightly terrifying nuclear arsenal). That means you dress the part: stuff that denotes a sense of professional benevolence as parent of the nation. So, if the mantra still stands, consider Aaron Paul's watch a shoo-in for 2020.

We present your new commander-in-chief: the Rolex Datejust 41. After enjoying an unprecedented four terms in the Oval Office, the landmark piece has adorned the wrist of two US presidents: Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan. What's more, the El Camino star's choice is even more versatile: stainless steel, with a blue dial, all mounted on the manufacture's signature Jubilee bracelet.

At the Sitges premiere of the Breaking Bad spin-off, the Datejust sits just as handsomely with a dressed-down two-piece as it does the power suits of Ronnie the Right. And it's not just a pretty face, either. The watch houses a new generation movement in the calibre 3235: mechanics certified as a Swiss chronometer by COSC (shorthand for the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, a panel of professionals that really, really love accurate watches). What's more, as a movement developed entirely in-house, the Datejust 41 has undergone further rigorous testing by Rolex's own stringent standards.

Granted, the international film festival circuit is a far cry from a Rose Garden turkey pardoning. But it is proof of the Datejust's versatility, and if it's good enough for two historic US presidents, chances are it'll work for Hollywood royalty too.

In a time when the current rules of what it means to be a president have gone a bit, erm, awry, White House wristwear is decidedly en vogue. And, in a time when we're deeply yearning for some class and stability in the Oval Office, Paul's Rolex Datejust is looking more presidential than ever.
