ABBA's Digitally-Enhanced Concerts Coming to London This Month
Few bands have saturated queer culture as much ABBA, the Swedish pop group behind ‘70s hits like “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo," and "Take a Chance On Me;" who later gained renewed relevance via films like Mamma Mia! and Muriel’s Wedding.
ABBA was formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Last November, the band released Voyage, their first album of new material in 40 years. Now the band is on the cusp of launching a world tour like no other.
True fans, naturally need no new gimmicks to flock to stadiums featuring the four singers, but we can also acknowledge that now in their 70s, these pop stars may have liabilities when performing for younger audiences. ABBA hopes to satisfy both die-hard and new fans through the magic of motion capture.

Digital versions of the band members, backed by music of additional artists will perform nightly 100-minute concerts 7 days a week; a regimen that would admittedly be challenging even in their prime.
