ABC, T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are headed to mediation after the network told the pair’s representatives it does not want them working together anymore.

The network began investigating the “GMA3” anchors in December after their affair became public, eventually pulling them off the air entirely. Reports quickly emerged that the network had decided to fire them and was negotiating their exit deals.

A new report from TMZ says Holmes’ and Robach’s lawyers called for a mediation session and that the co-anchors are presenting a united front.

Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, reportedly both ended their marriages — to “Melrose Place” star Andrew Shue and lawyer Marilee Fiebig, respectively — last summer within weeks of each other.

The relationship made headlines shortly after Thanksgiving when photos emerged showing the pair cuddling alongside reports their work relationship had taken a turn for the romantic. Sources close to the couple denied they had become involved before ending their respective marriages.

Robach does not want Holmes to receive a harsher punishment, the new TMZ report goes on to say. The outlet further reports “will become an issue” if Holmes is fired — especially if white employees who have been in similar situations were not terminated.

The mediation is reportedly scheduled for Thursday.
