ABC30 meteorologist leaving Fresno TV. She’s moving with her fighter pilot husband

Viewers of ABC30’s Action News, those who wake up early enough to watch AM Live programming anyway, got news on Monday that the team’s meteorologist will be leaving the Fresno television station.

Madeline Evans made a quick announcement on air Monday morning, saying this would be her last week at the station. She is leaving with her husband, who is a Navy pilot stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station.

“These last four years in the Central Valley hold so many incredible memories for us,” Evans said.

“We got married, my husband became a fighter pilot, we bought our first home together in Hanford, got a giant fluffy dog, traveled up and down California, and I got to continue my dream here at ABC30,” she said.

“This Navy family has to move on to our next adventure.”

Evans started at the stations in 2019, replacing Reuben Contreras, who later turned up on KSEE Sunrise. Prior to joining ABC30, Evans did work as a fill-in meteorologist on KSEE24 and CBS47, and was also a host on Central Valley Today.

Evans thanked the community for “the love and support” it has shown her and her family during her time in the Central Valley.

“I’m all the way from the East Coast, but the second I was here I felt so welcomed by viewers.”

Evans didn’t share many details about the move, but said she would say more on her last official segment on Friday.

“It doesn’t feel real yet.”
