Abilene gas price drops though 7/Elevens jump to $3.39

AAA on Thursday reported the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Texas at $3.108, down from $3.153. The average price in our survey of Abilene pumps was $3.06, with a high of $3.39 seen at most local 7-Eleven pumps and a low of $2.89 at the Allsups on South Clack. It's first posted price under $2.90 in the city in a while.

Amarillo's prices, which had shot up, dropped about 7 cents

The nationwide average rose, from $3.684 to $3.782, the first rise in months.
