Abilene gas price remains low compared to other Texas cities, dropping slightly

AAA on Thursday reported the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Texas at $3.153, down about 3 cents from last week. The average price in our survey of Abilene pumps was $3.09, with a high of $3.39 and low of $2.94. Abilene prices are among the lowest in the state.

Amarillo's prices got even higher, going to $3.40 a gallon. Changes elsewhere in Texas were up or down a little.

The nationwide average continues to fall but just slightly, from $3.698 last week to $3.684.
