Abilene ISD tossing out vacant campuses

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Abilene ISD is getting rid of its unused properties.

Fannin Elementary School on North 18th Street will be the first to go. The City of Abilene owns the land behind the building, but AISD owns the actual building.

In Abilene ISD’s school board meeting Monday night, it was said that the city wasn’t interested in the former Fannin building, but there was interest in the empty Woodson Early Childhood building on North 9th Street.

The school board is expected to talk about how to get rid of the buildings in next month’s meeting.
