Abilene, Odessa Permian play to 1-1 tie in District 2-6A girls soccer opener

ODESSA - Abilene High and Odessa Permian played to a 1-1 tie in the District 2-6A girls soccer opener Tuesday at Ratliff Stadium.

AHS scored first as Gabby Stokes headed in a corner kick from Marin Murray with 5:26 left in the first half.

The Lady Panthers (4-2-2, 0-0-1) tied it with 38:18 left in the game.

Kami Hernandez didn’t give up another score at goal for the Lady Eagles, making several big saves.

AHS (2-4-2 overall, 0-0-1 district) plays Midland Legacy at 5:30 p.m. Friday in a district game at Shotwell Stadium.

Panthers edge Eagles

At Odessa, Odessa Permian beat Abilene High 1-0 in the boys' District 2-6A opener at Ratliff Stadium.

The Eagles (3-4-2,0-1) play Midland Legacy at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a district game at Shotwell Stadium.
