COLEMAN — A town hall meeting featuring U.S. Rep August Pfluger will begin at 11 a.m. at the Coleman Public Library, 402 C. Commercial in Coleman. Admission is free to the public.

Movie at the library

A free showing of "Muppet Treasure Island" will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Mockingbird Branch of the Abilene Public Library, 1326 N. Mockingbird Lane. An escape room based on the movie will be open until 4:30 p.m.

Square dance workshop

TYE — The Wagon Wheel Squares will conduct a square dance workshop at 6 p.m. at the Wagon Wheel. Tracey Dowell will be the caller.

Children's Art and Literacy Festival

The annual three-day Children's Art & Literacy Festival will begin at 4 p.m. with a costume contest at the Elks Arts Center, followed by the Storybook Parade at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Abilene. Other events include a sculpture unveiling and party at 6:15 p.m. at the Adamson-Spalding Storybook Garden and a sketch session with this year's featured artist, Sophie Blackall, at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre. Thursday events will be free to the public, but festival passes will be required Friday and Saturday. For tickets and information, go to abilenecalf.com.

Line dancing

A line dancing class for beginners will begin at 2 p.m. at the Mockingbird Branch of the Abilene Public Library, 1326 N. Mockingbird Lane.

A free showing of "Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar" will begin at 6 p.m. at the Mockingbird Branch of the Abilene Public Library, 1326 N. Mockingbird Lane.

Children's Art and Literacy Festival

The annual Children's Art & Literacy Festival will continue from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with events throughout downtown Abilene, including shows, live theater, book readings, demonstrations and a petting zoo. The Abilene Quilters Guild's annual Stars Over Abilene Regional Quilt Show will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 N. Sixth St. Admission is $10. For information, go to abilenequiltersguild.net.

Mesquite Heat fundraiser

Prosperity Bank will begin serving chicken fajita plates at 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Southern Hills Church of Christ, 3666 Buffalo Gap Road. The fundraiser is to support volunteer fire departments involved in the Mesquite Heat wildfire in southwest Taylor County. Serving will continue until all plates are sold.

BeatlesFest

The 12th annual BeatlesFest will begin at 7 p.m. at Play Faire Park, 2300 N. Second St., featuring two nights of local musicians presenting their takes on Beatles classics. Admission is $10 per night or $15 for both nights. For information, go to playfairepark.com.
