Abilities Plus in Kewanee is preparing for the Christmas season with its annual holiday open house, held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at 1100 N. East St. in Kewanee. The public is invited to attend.

Due to safety concerns, face masks are required and refreshments will not be served this year. However, the open house will feature a bake sale, raffle items, and the chance to purchase collectibles, holiday décor, and hand decorated evergreen wreaths. Abilities Plus 2022 Wall Calendars will also be given out to attendees.

Raffle items this year include a 65” x 70” Bow Tie Quilt, a 42” x 62” Honey Bee Quilt, a Lottery Ticket Basket, a Hot Chocolate/Liquor Basket, a Soup/Cracker Basket, a John Deere Merchandise Basket, and an Animal Planet Extreme T-Rex Dinosaur. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Winners will be drawn at 3 p.m. Dec. 5.

Abilities Plus Resale Shop Volunteers have gathered items throughout the year and will sell this unique collection of gifts, holiday décor, antiques, and specialty items at the event.

Evergreen wreaths decorated by individuals in the Abilities Plus work services program will be ready for purchase for $15. Those wishing to order a wreath or schedule an alternative pick up time can contact Abilities Plus at (309) 852-4626.

All proceeds from the open house help fund programs that benefit children and adults with delays and disabilities in Henry, Stark, and western Bureau Counties.
