The state of abortion rights has been upended by the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

As of May 1, more than a dozen states have banned abortions or no longer have facilities where women can receive abortions.

The bans have kicked off a wave of legal challenges in several states.
