North Texas Mean Green transfer Abou Ousmane is joining Rice transfer Quincy Olivari, Western Kentucky transfer Dayvion McKnight and Indiana transfer (and former Moeller High School standout) Logan Duncomb by emerging from the portal with a commitment to the Xavier Musketeers, Ousmane confirmed via Twitter.

The 6-foot-10 Ousmane played the past three seasons for North Texas. He averaged 11.1 points, 6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 24.4 minutes per game in 34 games last season, earning All-Conference USA Third Team honors and helping the Mean Green to a postseason NIT title (though he played in just the first game of the tournament after suffering an injury against Alcorn State).

Ousmane scored a career-high 37 points on 15-of-19 from the field with 11 rebounds in a win against Texas-San Antonio in December.

Ousmane told Adam Zagoria of zagsblog.com by text that his reasons for choosing XU included the following: "Honestly, family atmosphere, development, winning culture and Big East basketball."

Ousmane reportedly also considered Alabama, Arkansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Florida, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech and talked to Syracuse, Seton Hall, LSU, Rhode Island, Virginia, Providence and DePaul.
