AC/DC fans who didn’t spring for pricy Power Trip passes now have a different kind of opportunity to get, well, Thunderstruck.

Ahead of the band’s appearance at the upcoming festival, the Club 5 bar in downtown Indio is being transformed into what is being billed as a “pop-up fan experience” paying tribute to the rock titans called the AC/DC High Voltage Dive Bar.

Promotional Web and Instagram pages for the bar include virtually no details about what that experience will entail (unless you count a 20-second clip of a door opening up to a room filled with what appear to be clouds and a flashing neon AC/DC light appropriately set to “Have A Drink on Me”).

However, a press release sent by the city of Indio touts the bar will take fans on a 50-year journey filled with “collectible rock relics and unique Easter eggs.” Among the offerings promised are a beer garden with “famous stage props, iconic artifacts and custom merchandise.” Alas, there was no mention of whether those artifacts will include one of Angus Young’s iconic flat hats or ties, but we can dream.

What is also mentioned is an iconic AC/DC neon light for customers to take pictures and a raffle that will include prizes like one of the Gibson SG and Gretsch Jet guitars favored by Angus and Malcom Young, respectively.

Those looking to take their devotion to the next level (or just make a drunken decision they will surely never regret) can also visit the on-site tattoo lounge staffed by artists from Indio’s Heat Stroke Tattoo. After all, who among us hasn’t wanted to have the lyrics of “Stiff Upper Lip” adorned to their arm for the rest of their days?

Several local food trucks will also be setting up shop outside the “official dive bar” (an oxymoron if there ever was one) each day. Indio’s weekly Food Truck Friday event will also be relocated to Bliss Avenue outside the bar on Friday night from 5 to 10 p.m.

The release does not give specifics about what drinks will be on offer. But this being AC/DC, you’ve got to think the bartenders will serving some “shots to kill” while shaking up the good stuff all night long.

But be careful out there, my friends: It’s a long way home after you’ve rocked n’ rolled, and you don’t want to wake up the next morning feeling like your alarm clock sounds like hells bells.

The bar will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The Club 5 bar is located at 82971 Bliss Avenue.

In case you want to hit up both the dive bar and the band's set, AC/DC is playing at Power Trip on Saturday at 9:25 p.m.
