Acapulco Hit by Flooding as Two Major Storms Impact Mexico

Flooding hit Acapulco on Mexico’s Pacific coast on Tuesday, October 11, as the remnants of storm Julia, which made landfall days earlier as a hurricane in Central America, brought heavy rain to the resort town.

Footage posted to Twitter shows flooding in the Crucero de Cayaco neighborhood.

The impacts of storm Julia prompted authorities to close schools in several areas, including Acapulco, on Wednesday.

Beach cleanups were underway Wednesday following heavy rains, according to the governor of Guerrero.

The flooding took place as Mexico braced for tropical storm Karl, which was causing heavy rain in several states on Wednesday morning. Credit: @Jos7as via Storyful
