ACC Tournament bracket is set. How to watch Louisville basketball and other league games

Five wins in five days: That's the only way the Louisville men's basketball team can reach the NCAA Tournament in Year 1 of the Kenny Payne era.

After going 2-18 in ACC play and setting a record for most single-season losses (27) in the program's 109-year history, the Cardinals head to the conference tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina, as the No. 15 seed.

The plan is to not, as Mike James put it after Saturday's loss to No. 13 Virginia, just show up and say, "Hey, we’re here."

“We’re trying to win it,” said James, who in the losing effort Saturday led all scorers with a career-high 24 points on 7-for-10 shooting in 37 minutes. "If our mindset isn’t that, then I don’t know what to say."

"I ask these players every day, 'Do you understand what it means to be in that jersey and what, fully, you have to sacrifice to be in that jersey?' said Kenny Payne after losing to Virginia Tech. "I don’t think a majority of them do." Louisville finished the regular season 4-26 and 2-17 in the ACC. Feb. 28, 2023

Regular-season finale:Louisville basketball enters ACC Tournament with 'a lot of experience in what not to do'

Louisville's quest to keep its season alive begins at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday inside Greensboro Coliseum with a rematch against Boston College, which won 75-65 the last time the teams met back on Jan. 25 in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. A victory against the Eagles would set up another opportunity for payback, this time against North Carolina, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

If U of L is someone able to match its longest winning streak of the season — and win as many conference games as it did in the span of three months in just two days — the Cardinals will face No. 2-seeded Virginia for the second time in less than a week at 7 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinal round.
