“Tool” was formed in Los Angeles in 1990 by musicians Danny Carey, Adam Jones, Maynard James Keenan and Paul D-Amour. The group has been nominated for nine Grammy awards and won three of them. The group’s most recent win is from the 62nd award show in 2020, where it received Best Metal Performance for the song “7empest.” Historically, the rock band clinched its first Best Metal Performance award for its single “Aenema” at the 40th award show in 1998.
