Accomack County schools closing due to 'widespread power outages' on Virginia Shore
Accomack County Public Schools will be closing all schools for the remainder of the day Wednesday, Dec. 1, due to widespread power outages, the school system announced in Tweet and on its website.
All after school activities are canceled as well, it said.

An outage map posted on A&N Electric website, the main electric provider on the Shore, shows more than 20,000 customers were without power throughout the Eastern Shore as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The cause of the widespread power outage is now known yet.
