Accused purse thieves face new charges for similar crime

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Two women accused of stealing purses from a high-end store in St. Louis County face new charges for another reported theft.

This particular theft occurred on Oct. 9, 2023, at the Neiman-Marcus store at Plaza Frontenac.

According to probable cause statements filed in the St. Louis County Circuit Court, both Jamille Cobin and Tahiyyah Mays have been charged with stealing – $750 or more.

Police and prosecutors claim Corbin and Mays entered the store, grabbed several pieces of clothing from the racks, and ran from the store without attempting to pay for anything.

The theft was recorded on surveillance video. The stolen clothing was valued at $10,169.

The pair drove away in Mays’ vehicle.

Mays was later arrested and interviewed. Police claim she admitted to being at the store with Cobin on the day of the theft.

Mays facing similar charges for allegedly stealing 11 handbags worth $14,260 from Neiman-Marcus and taking two handbags worth $4,675 from Saks Fifth Avenue.

Cobin was charged last month for allegedly stealing more than $52,000 worth of purses and other merchandise from the Nordstrom inside the Saint Louis Galleria and the Neman-Marcus at Plaza Frontenac.
